Welcome!
My name is Alejandro Salvia. In my career I have ventured into different fields of the arts as a singer, actor, dancer, visual artist, writer, stage director and educator.
As an educator I have been doing considerable teaching in professional training programs, private seminars and multidisciplinary clinics, as well as privately, contributing my understanding of the techniques I have acquired through many years of research, performance experience and the knowledge passed to me by the great teachers I have had the privilege to study with.
Teaching has represented for me the best way to assimilate and expand my knowledge, the greater the challenge that my students impose on me, the greater my motivation to continue studying is. This has represented an incredible feedback process in my career.
“While we teach, we learn” Seneca
Strengthening our body/mind connection through the arts.
Over the years I have developed a method intended for singers, actors or anyone interested in exploring or using the voice as a practice and/or in performance. At the beginning of each session we explore the extension of movement into sound and vibration, which is proven to alter our perception and activate space differently than movement alone. Further, we experience a dialogue between spoken language, dancing, singing and movement . This practice has proven to boost students's confidence. Most of the exercises we practice are extracted from The Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais and the Buteyko Breathing methods combined with dance (improvisation), Yoga, and Sound Therapy.
For those who choose the visual arts as a way of expression this practice is optional.

Art Therapy
Art therapy is a specialized area of mental health that uses art materials and the creative process to explore emotions, reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, and resolve other psychological conflicts. Techniques used in art therapy can include drawing, painting, coloring, sculpting, or collage. As clients create art, they may analyze what they have made and how it makes them feel. Through exploring their art, people can look for themes and conflicts that may be affecting their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
